Wyrley Ladies reflections

Wednesday Oct 28, 2020

Tamworth Women played against Wyrley Ladies on Sunday 25th October 2020 winning 1-0.

Ryan Hamilton reflected on the win:

I'm really pleased to come away with the three points and proud of the way the girls dug in, fought as a team to ensure we kept the clean sheet and came away with the win.

It certainly wasn't our most polished performance being put on an tiny pitch that wasn't helped by the weather made it difficult initially for the girls but they adapted, we switched shape for a while, we created plenty of chances and Liv has taken her goal well. We needed to be a little more clinical especially second half, if we are then we win four or five nil and put the game to bed earlier but we just lacked that final finish today. The fact we ground out a solid win, on a difficult pitch against a team that credit to them, made themselves hard to beat and worked hard for each other is really pleasing and shows the maturity of our team to manage the game and ensure we came away with three points.

I'm really pleased for the team, they showed a real hunger and desire to win, worked hard for ninety minutes and our quality showed in large parts.

It keeps us moving forwards, with four wins and four clean sheets in a row in the league. Now we look forward to Port Vale Ladies at The Lamb this weekend.
