Wright Speaks

Saturday Jun 9, 2018

New boy on becoming a Lamb!

New signing Luke Wright caught up with Matt Panter of The Tamworth Herald this week, and said he was looking forward to hitting the ground running.

“I’m already getting myself fit and ready,” he told Herald Sport. “I had a week away with my girlfriend in Egypt a couple of weeks ago, came back and signed for Tamworth within two days of returning. Then I was straight into training. I’m even riding to work on a bike at the moment, rather than driving there. I like to do anything I can to give me that added step rather than turning up for pre-season unprepared.”

“I think Tamworth have signed me as a central midfielder,” he said. “I think that’s where Tim and Mike Fowler see me. But I have played centre-half as well and I was right-back at Redditch. I think the management here know they can play me wherever they need me to play and I will always give them 100 per cent.”

Wright indicated that he was impressed with the business that the club had conducted so far. “The squad is shaping up very nicely,” he said. “I wanted to join a club that was going places and I think Tamworth are. I’ve come here to play good football and win trophies and I am confident that will be the case.”
