Weekend Round Up

Saturday Oct 19, 2019

The Emirates FA Cup dream came to an end on Saturday with 3-0 defeat to Darlington.

The Emirates FA Cup dream came to an end on Saturday, but it has been a great journey with some fabulous memories. In the end Darlington were just too clinical for the Lambs as they won 3 - 0.

The Lambs could certainly have made the score line a lot closer as they had good chances, including a missed penalty and a close range shot cleared off the line.

This has been the best FA Cup run for a number of seasons which lasted from the 1st to 4th qualifying rounds. A few stats

  •    Games played - 5 (which includes 1 replay)
  •    Goals scored - 5
  •    Total attendances over the games - 5,298
  •    Prize Money won - £28,750

The Lambs now look forward to a visit to Stratford Town on Tuesday evening for a Bet Victor Southern Premier League Central fixture (7.45), and then the visit of Leiston next Saturday in the Buildbase FA Trophy (3.00) where the winners will receive £2,450.

Our Academy Development team travelled to Coton Green Reserves in a MFL Trophy tie on Saturday afternoon and secured a 3 - 0 victory with goals from Tyreece Davis, Harrison James and Thabang Dube. Earlier in the day our U18s lost 3-2 at Stafford Rangers.

On Sunday afternoon Tamworth Ladies took on Shrewsbury Juniors Ladies in a Staffs Girls and Ladies League fixture. and ran out 5 - 0 winners. The goals were scored by Chloe Finn, Sophie Wardle-Hall, Hannah Baker (2) and an OG. The win takes the Ladies up to 2nd place in the league.
