Weekend double for BetVictor Southern Central Teams

Thursday Aug 22, 2019

It is a busy weekend in the BetVictor Southern Central Division with all but two teams playing Saturday and then again on Bank Holiday Monday.

Come Tuesday the league table could look a lot different. In the meantime, have some fun by looking at internet gambling over the weekend.

Tamworth make the long trip east on Saturday to face struggling Leiston. Leiston are bottom of the league and have only managed one draw (a 1-1 against Coalville) and two defeats in their three games, including a 6-0 hammering at Rushall. Tamworth have four points, including a good 3-1 home victory last time out. The Lambs will be hoping to notch their first away win and the bookies have them as favourites at 8/13, the draw 11/4 and Leiston outsiders at home at 10/3. Last season The Lambs thumped Leiston at home 5-0 late in the season when when they were on a great run of form. At Leiston back in August last season the teams played out a 2-2 draw, when The Lambs came back from 2-0 down at half time.

On Bank Holiday Monday Tamworth welcome local rivals Hednesford Town to The CR MOT Centre Community Stadium. Hednesford have won two and lost one of their three games, gathering 6 points including a very creditable away victory at Stourbridge last Saturday. Before travelling down the A5 to Tamworth, Hednesford will host Alvechurch on Saturday. Hednesford are 6/5, the draw 13/5 and Alvechurch 13/8. Last season Hednesford knocked Tamworth out of the FA Cup with a 2-0 home victory and The Lambs will be looking to reverse that result and grab the three points.

Elsewhere in the league, Rushden & Diamonds will be looking to protect their 100% record with a trip to Stratford town followed by hosting St. Ives. Although they are slight outsiders away at Stratford, Rushden could well win both and be top of the league at the end of August. This is all very well but in the long run it is irrelevant as all teams in the league will be hoping they are top of the league in late April and not next week!
