Odds on Thursday evening for our match at Histon were

Histon 2/1 Tamworth 11/10 and the draw was listed at 12/5

The Blue Square Bet Premier kicks-off a huge weekend of live football with the mouth-watering clash between pre-season favourites Luton Town and league leaders AFC Wimbledon. With home advantage Luton are rated the most likely winners at a price of 5/6 although their form over the last year could point to better bets elsewhere. The Hatters lost the corresponding fixture last season by a score of 2-1 back in February. That contributed to form figures of only 5 wins from 18 matches against their fellow top ten teams - even though they eventually finished in a respectable second place. Just four more wins would have secured the title and that isn't an insurmountable turnaround for boss Richard Money and his team to perform this season. If their promotion dreams are to be realised then they cannot afford to suffer defeat here. A draw is priced at 5/2 with a win for Terry Brown's Wombles offered at 11/4. Brown pinpointed this fixture as a turning point between games his side had a good chance in and a game in which they'd have to be at their absolute best. They travel to Kenilworth Road having only dropped five points from a possible 24 in those opening eight games. The game is live on Premier Sports and as usual we will be offering a host of special bets for you to enjoy the action.

Crawley Town are two points behind the leaders and when Saturday's games get underway they will kick-off as the shortest priced team in the division to achieve three points from the afternoon. Steve Evans' side welcome Gateshead to Sussex and are just 4/11 to register another home win. History will be made in South Wales when twins Dean and David Holdsworth meet on the sidelines as Newport County host Mansfield Town. David's Mansfield have had a spell at the top of the table but will be outsiders for this trip at 17/10 due to Newport's incredible home form. Dean is the 13/10 favourite to get the upper hand in this sibling rivalry with a another home win for County.

Altrincham lost the services of their inspirational long time boss Graham Heathcote this week. A poor start for the North West club sees them propping up the rest of the Blue Square Bet Premier with a solitary point. With only four goals scored in over 700 minutes of league football the last place Alty will want to go is free-scoring Eastbourne Borough. With fifteen in their ‘goals for' column they will fancy their chances at a price of 4/5. Tamworth won't mind being labeled the surprise package from the first six weeks of the season. Gary Mills has made his team incredibly tough to beat and there will surely be plenty of interest in their quote of 11/10 to win at struggling Histon.

The ‘fishing port' derby between Grimsby Town and Fleetwood Town matches clubs that were two divisions apart last season. Fleetwood's fantastic start to life in the ‘top flight' is reflected in their quote of just 5/2 to win on their trip across to the East coast. Grimsby are only registering a 50% strike-rate at home this season and have already struggled against sides with less quality than this weekend's opponents. Micky Mellon's visitors could shock them! Kettering went 1-0 up at Fleetwood last weekend only to be overcome in a 4-1 defeat. That has put some pressure on boss Lee Harper but he has the backing of Poppies owner Imran Ladak to turn things around. That has to start at home to Wrexham this weekend at Rockingham Road, but I could only tip the Welsh side at 5/4 when analysing this match.

York City have only lost once in their last seven matches but probably have too many draws under their belt to satisfy manager Martin Foyle. They can make it three home wins on the bounce by beating Hayes & Yeading United at a price of 4/7. Punters would do well to proceed with caution as I have pointed out before, Garry Haylock's men from Middlesex have been involved in the most games that have gone against the market so far this season. Cambridge United had their winning run halted at Luton last week but will fancy their chances of recapturing their form at an inconsistent Kidderminster. The market cannot split the sides who are both 6/4 to get the three points.

Southport will be happy to sit in tenth spot as they take to the field against Rushden & Diamonds on Saturday. Diamonds boss Justin Edinburgh is unlikely to be satisfied by his team's start which see's them in 16th with two defeats in which they didn't score most recent in their results list. Both teams in this match have scored more than once on only one occasion each from a combined total of 16 matches. A low scoring game could be on the cards here and ‘under 2.5 goals' appeals at 4/6. Barrow have a six game unbeaten streak behind them and will be full of confidence as they host Forest Green Rovers at a price of 8/11 to win again. Darlington need to adapt quickly to the division and boss Mark Cooper will be hoping that can continue at a price of 6/5 for victory at Bath City.
