WEEKEND BLUE SQUARE BET PREMIER PREVIEW by Alan Alger from Blue Square
In the space of just over two weeks we have seen four different teams reach the top of the Blue Square Bet Premier table. We go into this weekend's fixtures with just nine points separating first place to the halfway point in the standings. Exciting times in Non-Leagues' top-flight.
Crawley Town, AFC Wimbledon and Fleetwood Town occupy the top three positions in the current table and the trio all have home games this weekend. They are odds-on favourites to win their matches and the treble for them all to succeed is priced at 17/10 with Blue Square. Crawley welcome Kidderminster Harriers to the Broadfield Stadium and I don't think this one is as easy as the home win odds of 4/9 suggest. Steve Burr's Harriers will look to put a midweek defeat at Bath City behind them as they try to recapture the form which carried them to victory over AFC Wimbledon last Sunday. That game followed hot on the heels of the Wombles' victory against Crawley, so as form lines go a bet on Kidderminster at a potentially huge 11/2 could prove profitable. Burr's team have only lost twice away from home in six matches.
AFC Wimbledon are the next price down from Crawley, as the 2/5 favourites to overcome poor travellers Forest Green Rovers. With the treatment table finally looking less crowded in South West London a home victory looks a weekend banker. Rovers have lost five of their six away matches, conceding 16 goals in the process.
The shortest priced favourites of all are Fleetwood Town, who enjoyed 24 'table topping' hours in midweek. Histon are the visitors to Highbury Stadium and it would be a very brave punter indeed who plumps for anything other than a comfortable home win at 1/3.
Altrincham can climb off the bottom of the table if they register a home win over Rushden, whilst Histon fail to shock Fleetwood. Alty are at least finding the net in matches now and there could be some interest in them at 2/1 to beat an inconsistent Rushden & Diamonds. Justin Edinburgh's team have been involved in low scoring matches most weeks and this match could be won by the odd goal either way. Luton Town's away form is a minor cause for concern for their backers and it's no surprise to see them offered at our best price of 10/11 to win away at Barrow. The Hatters have only won two of their six games on the road and the draw is a real possibility here at 12/5.
Cambridge United lost their unbeaten home record last week in a 1-0 defeat to Newport County. The U's also fired blanks in midweek going down by three goals at AFC Wimbledon. We also go best price a Cambridge win over Bath City at 8/13 due to that shot-shy form. Bath are yet to win away from home but the pressure may tell on the hosts here and my tip would be a goalless draw at 9/1.
The game of the day sees Dean Saunders take his Wrexham side to Darlington. The Welsh side can leapfrog their opponents in the table if they win at odds of 9/4. A home win for Mark Cooper's solid defensive outfit is priced at Evens. The best correct-score could be a 1-0 home victory at 6/1.
York City are unbeaten in two matches since Martin Foyle quit the club last week. The Minstermen are five points off the play-offs and can improve their 'top five' credentials by winning at Eastbourne Borough. We can't split the two teams and offer 6/4 for each of them to win. Mansfield Town have a 50/50 away record with three defeats and three victories. The Stags are yet to draw on the road, but that could end on Saturday with a tricky game at Gateshead. Luton Town were beaten there last week and Grimsby could only manage a goalless draw in the North East. Ian Bogie's team are unbeaten in their last three games and I like the look of a stalemate at 12/5. Grimsby Town are the narrow home favourites as they welcome in-form Newport County to Blundell Park. Dean Holdsworth's visitors are 9/5 to win for the sixth straight game. Kettering need to balance their patchy home record which stretches back over two seasons. The Poppies have one of the worst set of statistics when favourites to win at Rockingham Road. They should beat Hayes & Yeading in their current form, but not many punters will trust them, even at odds of 8/11. Tamworth are in good enough all-round form at the start of this campaign to appeal at 6/4 to win at Southport. The home side are offered at the same price.
ALAN'S BEST WEEKEND TREBLE
York City to beat Eastbourne
Fleetwood to beat Histon

The odds for the match at Southport on Friday afternoon was 6/4 for either a home or an away win and the draw is listed at 23/10.
Only doubt for the game is Stefan Oakes who missed training on Friday due to illness otherwise Gary will have a full squad to selct from for the game in Southport.
