Weekend Blue Square Bet Premier and FA Trophy preview by Alan Alger from Blue Square

Weekend Blue Square Bet Premier and FA Trophy preview by Alan Alger from Blue Square

We have a reduced programme in the Blue Square Bet Premier on Saturday as some clubs are still on the road to Wembley offered by the FA Trophy. Luton Town play their ‘last 16' clash in the competition at home to Gloucester City on Friday night and we offer 4/11 on a Hatters win, with plenty of changes to their line-up in store. Luton's Trophy match coupled with Crawley Town's draw at Kettering on Thursday night, gives AFC Wimbledon the chance to extend their lead at the top of the table. The Wombles are a point clear of their nearest rivals in the title race, although they have played more games. They host Fleetwood Town this weekend and are offered at 4/6 with Blue Square to get back to winning ways after a midweek reverse at York City. Fleetwood were shock losers at Histon on the same night and go into this game after consecutive away defeats in the league. We're offering the best price on an away win at 4/1.

Wrexham aim to extend their unbeaten league run to 14 matches as they visit struggling Barrow. Dean Saunders' men still have an outside chance of a title push but will surely be setting a minimum target of staying in the ‘top 5'. They've found the ideal blend of attacking flair and solid defending that hasn't always been in synergy during Saunders' reign. They merit plenty of respect to win again at odds of 4/5. Kidderminster have quickly recouped the points that were deducted for off the field problems and it has restored their faith in achieving a play-off berth. Whilst ownership issues rumble on behind the scenes manager Steve Burr has kept his team on the straight and narrow. Harriers are 8/11 favourites at home to Bath City. The Romans have impressed plenty of people this season with their efficient displays and are thoroughly deserving of their mid-table status. Adie Britton's team have already won five times away from Twerton Park and it would be no surprise if they got something from this match, although a draw is most likely at 5/2.

Rushden & Diamonds were 2-1 winners in midweek at home to Cambridge United and the sides meet again in the reverse league fixture just four days later. Cambridge parted company with Martin Ling just hours before the defeat at Nene Park, with Jez George taking temporary charge. Four straight defeats and only two goals in recent league outings mean the U's need a response here if they are to cling to a very slim play-off chance. The resounding feeling at the Abbey Stadium will probably one of consolidating and looking ahead to 2011/12. Rushden are worthy of support to complete a double at odds of 7/5.

Histon are determined to battle their way off the bottom of the table and deserve enormous credit for their win at home to Fleetwood on Tuesday. They are still seven points off safety - including the five they were deducted - so will need to pull out more performances like that one. They travel to Tamworth at a price of 5/1 to win back-to-back league games for only the third time this season. Tamworth are the strong 8/15 favourites and have only been beaten once in their last ten league matches.

Altrincham have a good home record against the clubs around them in the table and are worthy of support at 11/10 to beat Southport. Liam Watson's team travel to the Manchester suburbs with just one away win to their name. Hayes & Yeading will aim to leapfrog Forest Green Rovers into the place just outside the relegation zone with an away win at the New Lawn. Garry Haylock's team are the 5/2 outsiders, with a home win on offer at 10/11. The best bet in the FA Trophy could be Alfreton to win away at local rivals Mansfield Town. Guiseley also warrant plenty of respect at Eastbourne Borough, who have lost ten straight league matches.

AFC WIMBLEDON to beat Fleetwood Town
