Weekend Blue Square Bet Premier and live match preview by Alan Alger from Blue Square

We have a ‘Super Saturday' in the Blue Square Bet Premier this week as a number of the top teams face-off against each other. No less than four matches will involve two teams from the top half of the table and the day could go down as an extremely important one in the title race. AFC Wimbledon have a quick chance to get revenge on York City after their heavy defeat at the hands of the Minstermen at the start of the month. The Wombles are favourites with home advantage and can be backed at 10/11 to extend keep their lead at the top of the table. York are yet to register a win away at any of the teams above them in the table and that's a key stat for this contest. Gary Mills' side are available at 11/4 which could be an attractive price for punters who look at the 4-1 scoreline from the reverse fixture a few days ago.

The Broadfield Stadium plays host to an intriguing clash between title favourites Crawley Town and the division's form team Wrexham. This is a difficult match to weigh up and although Crawley will be favourites, an odds-on quote of 4/5 leads me to think that an away win could be value here. The price of 3/1 for Dean Saunders' team to win and move right into the title shake-up is worth taking. Fleetwood Town have not kept up their consistent start to the season but can be proud that they are still in contention for the play-offs. They have a tough game at Kenilworth Road against Luton Town. The Hatters have seen their title price collapse from 5/2 to 7/4 in the last few weeks and continue to move in the right direction. They are strong favourites at 8/15 to beat Micky Mellon's men and continue to put pressure on their fellow promotion contenders.

Improving Kettering Town make plenty of appeal at odds of 5/6 to beat poor travelers Barrow. The Holker Street side yet to register an away win all season. Bath City also stand out with their solid home record as Tamworth visit Twerton Park, a win for Adie Britton's team is priced at Evens. Kidderminster Harriers continue to perform extremely well considering their off the pitch problems and they are worthy 8/15 favourites at home to Altrincham. Rushden & Diamonds now have home advantage against Gateshead after the fixture was swapped and are priced at 8/11 to make that count. The reverse fixture will now be played later in the season. Eastbourne Borough have not won in the league since the first week of October and are winless in 16 matches including 10 straight defeats ahead of Saturday's trip to Darlington. The Sussex side are 6/1 to halt that slide with an unlikely win over Mark Cooper's men. Cambridge United are also in a long run of defeats and their trip to Grimsby tomorrow sees the home side offered at 4/7 to inflict a sixth straight loss on the U's.

There are also some huge matches towards the bottom of the table which could be labeled with the cliché ‘six-pointer'. Histon are in tremendous form at the moment, especially in defence where they've conceded just one goal in four unbeaten matches. They look like the best bet of the weekend at 11/10 at home to Hayes & Yeading United. David Livermore's Stutes can leapfrog the Middlesex side with a win. Southport can do the same to Forest Green Rovers as they look to build on two decent home performances with a third straight game at Haig Avenue. Liam Watson's team are the 11/10 favourites to register a victory against a struggling Rovers side who have won just two of their 14 away matches in the division.

Mansfield Town and Newport County feature in a live Premier Sports game on Saturday evening and you'd fear that the losers of this match will be out of contention for a top five finish as the play-off spots become ultra-competitive. Mansfield are the slight favourites at 6/5 with a draw offered at 23/10 and an away win at 15/8. Mansfield topped the table back in late September but have been on a downward curve since. Newport have been as high as second as recently as between Christmas and New Year but have also suffered reversed fortunes of late. The loss of manager Dean Holdsworth has coincided in a slump from the South Wales team, who have not won in six matches so far this year. The loss of striker Craig Reid was another big blow. Mansfield only have four points from a possible 33 when facing teams from the top ten in the table this season (0 from 12 in their home games). With neither side in particularly good form it's hard to rule out a scoring draw - maybe 1-1 or 2-2 on the correct score market at 6/1 and 12/1 respectively.
