Women's Super League comes to Tamworth!
The club is pleased to confirm that The GST Gas Services Stadium at The Lamb becomes the new home of Aston Villa Ladies FC with immediate effect.
The Villans, who have already had some behind closed doors fixtures on the 3G surface, will play both first team and development team fixtures in Tamworth, commencing this weekend. Fixtures will usually take place on Sunday afternoons. Talks are also progressing well to host training sessions for the Regional Talent Club, which is the youth development arm of Aston Villa Ladies, in the 2017/18 season.
FA WSL 'Spring Series' fixtures were announced earlier this week. The Spring Series is a one-off competition which has been created to bridge the gap between seasons, while the FA WSL transitions from a summer league to a more traditional football calendar. Each club will play each other once with a trophy awarded to each division’s winners. The Spring Series will finish before this summer’s Euros.
