Villa Ladies At Home

Monday May 14, 2018

Sheffield FC the visitors on Sunday!

Tasha Baptiste felt Aston Villa Ladies Sunday clash against Tottenham Hotspur could have gone either way. She said: “I think we showed our team morale. We’ve had it all season but it really paid off towards the end of the game. We could have gone ahead because we had chances, but they did too. It’s just good to keep that morale going.”

Baptiste has made a strong impression since forcing her way back into the team over the second half of the season, giving the side another dimension. But the forward felt Villa missed the impact of top scorer Ebony Salmon, who is playing for England in the under-17 European Championships, against Spurs.

“It’s difficult to come back from a goal down but we could have been one or two goals up. To come back from a goal down is hard but that’s football for you. You’ve got no choice,” she said. “We were missing Ebony Salmon today, and she’s the kind of player you can’t replace. On a day like today her pace would have caused their back four problems.”

Attentions now turn to the final game of the season against Sheffield FC Ladies on Sunday. Tickets cost just £5 for adults and £1 for under-16s and over 65s.
