Verma Previews Darlington

Thursday Nov 16, 2017

 Midfielder positive ahead of weekend!

After making his return from injury on Saturday, Aman Verma caught up with Matt Panter of The Tamworth Herald to discuss the upcoming trip to Darlington.

“We have had some good away results recently so we can go into this weekend in positive mood,” he said. I used to play for them (Darlington) so it will be nice to go up there. It’s a different pitch now but I have good memories of my time there."

Verma continued “We won the FA Trophy in 2011 (beating Mansfield) so it was great to be part of that. The fans might have forgotten me by now though! We are looking forward to it. It’ll be a four-hour trip so there will be a bit of banter plus the chance for some rest. We will see how it goes up there.”

Meanwhile, Verma was glad to be back in a Lambs shirt after missing recent games with an ankle problem, having limped out of the 3-2 defeat to Alfreton after just 20 minutes.

He scored Tamworth’s goal in their 2-1 defeat to Salford and said: “I thought we played some good stuff. We just failed to defend well enough from one set-piece."

“But it’s good to be back. It’s nice playing with Foxy (Ben Fox) and Ellis Deeney behind me. They gave me the ball a lot and I had Knightsy (Darryl Knights) and Stychey (Reece Styche) around me, making runs for me, giving me a bit of space."

As per usual, supporters coach travel is available for the game. The coach will leave The Lamb at 9.30am on Saturday morning, with members priced at £20 and non members priced at £25.
