MICHAEL Townsend has committed his future to Tamworth as they prepare for life in the Conference North.
The former Hereford United and Cheltenham central defender put pen to paper on a
deal on Tuesday.
Manager Dale Belford said: “Michael’s a great lad and we are delighted to have him back on board.
“He is an absolutely massive character both on and off the pitch.
“He’s someone who has terrific leadership qualities and when he’s fully fit, he’s as good as any centre half in the Conference Premier, let alone the Conference North
“He fits the bill of the kind of player we want to bring in. He’s local, a good age, at 28, and someone who has played a lot of games both in the
Football League but also at Hereford in the Conference.
“He’s fully fit now and raring to go once pre-season gets started.”
