Defenders joins Airbus UK Broughton until the end of the season!
Defender Stephen Tomassen has joined Airbus UK Broughton of the Welsh Premier League on loan until the end of this season, subject to international clearance. Despite featuring regularly for the first team this season, competition for places in defensive areas is growing following the return to fitness of Paul Green, and with Luke Jones suspension ending.
Commenting on the departure, Morrell said "I think he needs to freshen up his head a little bit. He has been here a year and a half and he has been great for us, really good. As a player, at 6ft2, he's aggressive and, as a footballer, he can play and he is quite quick. So he has the attributes but I just don't think he has been fully switched on this season."
"He has still played a lot of games and done alright but I think he can give so much more and I just want him to go out and have a fresh start somewhere. It is not a definite 'no' as to whether I am not going to keep him on next year but I think he needs to go out and play some football and be a big part of something else for a little bit. It's a chance for him to go out and get playing well again and it's a move that suits all parties."
Everyone at the club wishes Stephen the best between now and the end of the season.
