Title Race continues at Coalville on Tuesday

Monday Mar 9, 2020

The race for the title continues at Coalville Town on Tuesday.

The in-form Lambs head the form table with 6 wins from their last 6 outings scoring 15 goals and conceding just one. On Saturday an impressive performance put Stratford Town to the sword 4 - 1, but in truth the scoreline could have been a lot bigger with the chances created. Tyrelle Waite, Ahmed Obeng, Ryan Beswick and Joel Carta all hit the target with Obeng putting in a man of the match performance. The management team were pleased with the contribution made by the new players and if the paperwork can be completed, then Ken Feyi will come into contention for a place at Coalville too.
The Ravens have been in and around the play off places for most of the season and recently made the headlines with the signing of striker Billy Kee. Their recent form has seen them pick up 9 points from the last 6 games having W 3 D0 L3 F8 A5. They currently sit in 8th place 2 points off a play off place and have games in hand. On Saturday they lost 2 -1 at home to Hitchin Town and you can see the highlights here.
This will be the first league clash between the two teams this season - we are due to face each other at the Lamb on Sat 28 March. However, the teams faced each other in the Southern League Challenge Cup on 1 Oct, with the Ravens winning 3-1. Last season saw Tamworth come away with all three points in a 2 - 1 win, with second half goals from Jack Concannon and Tyrelle Waite.
