 Burns and Verma secure away win!

 A superb team performance saw the Lambs run out 2-1 winners at Leamington last, registering the first three points of the Vanarama National League North 2017/18 season in the process. Andy Burns and Aman Verma were the scorers on the day, although the Darryl Knights and Connor Taylor also had plenty of chances during proceedings.

 After a couple of impressive saves from Shaun Rowley early in the second half, Tamworth took charge of the game, and were relatively comfortable in the closing stages. Manager Andy Morrell caught up with Matt Panter of the Tamworth Herald after the game.

 "I thought some of the stuff we played at times was really good, really exciting" he said. "We created chances and we were worthy winners. We can take massive positives from it and I am proud of the way they played the game."

 "I am pleased to get off the mark because we needed to. Let's get going now. Things can take time to click but I am pleased we have won a game early and that breeds some confidence. We have Blyth next and it is a long trip and a tough game. We can go there with belief now."
