Team news ahead of Sutton Coldfield Town game tonight

Tuesday Jul 23, 2019

Tom Baillie says that tonight's game is where pre-season starts to "get serious".

Head of Senior Football Tom Baillie is looking forward to tonight’s game at Sutton Coldfield Town and says that pre-season “starts to get serious” with the Lamb’s first realistic challenge against a good team that play around Tamworth’s level. Although the result is not important, what will be key for the management team will be for players to get minutes under their belts and to put in a performance both individually and as a group. “We now have 4 meaningful games against teams that play at or around our level and we can see where we are and where we need to be. It is really important that we hit the ground running when the league campaign starts in a couple of weeks time.”

Tamworth will be taking a squad of about 18 to Sutton Coldfield with a number of key players returning after being unavailable at Bilston Town on Saturday. However Arron Forde (injury) Greg Kazaboni (injury) and Rhys Hoenes (holiday) will still be missing. After tonight’s game the squad will start to get narrowed down to identify the players that will commence the season and those that will need to go out on loan to get some game time in.

The game kicks at Coles Lane, Sutton Coldfield (B72 1NL) at 7.45 with admission on the gate £4 adults, £2 Senior Citizens (65 and over) and free for those 18 and under. Travel time by car from the Lamb is around 20 minutes with a distance of 9 miles.

If you can't get to the game, then you can listen to it live on Lambs Media here. You can also follow on the TFC official Twitter and Facebook channels
