 Connor looks ahead to Saturday!

Matt Panter of The Tamworth Herald caught up with current longest serving player Connor Taylor this week, to get his thoughts ahead of the visit of Salford City on Saturday.

“Hopefully we can do it again this weekend" Taylor said, referring to The Lambs two victories over The Ammies last season. “We are certainly looking forward to it. I think it will be a good game. It’s always good to come up against Salford. Obviously you have all the hype around them because of the Manchester United legends. So that’s an added spur and I, personally, love all the big games so it should be good.”

Taylor has impressed in a slightly deeper role against York City and Chorley, which has coincided with an upturn in form. “We have come out of a bad patch so we can go into this game with a more positive mindset,” he said. “We had a difficult spell. It didn’t help that we went out of the FA Cup and then lost to a couple of late goals. But hopefully it’s all behind us now and we can crack on again. I feel I have done well in the last couple of games, playing in the middle with Ellis (Deeney) and Foxy (Ben Fox). We have supported each other well in there and we’ve had a good shape to us.”
