Success through the ranks

Wednesday Apr 29, 2009

If you thought that Tamworth FC comprised just the first team then you'd be sadly mistaken as all the other Lambs mens sides have enjoyed success this term.

The reserves capped a fine campaign with victory in the Central Conference cup on Tuesday night, and still have one more cup final to go.
They won on penalties after a 1-1 draw with Tamworth's goal coming from Stuart Nicholson away at Stafford Rangers.

And with the u13s and u14s both winning their leagues and the u15 finishing second and u16s ending in a very respectable position it's going to be an interesting evening on Saturday at the end of season dinner dance.

And there's more to cheer about with one of last season's winners - youth star Kane Hemmings - featuring for Glasgow Rangers youth side in their own cup final against Hibernian at Hampden Park. Reserve boss Darren Fulford along with assistant John Cole and 'special guest' local goalkeping hero Tony Coton made the trip North and everyone at TFC wishes him well.
