Tamworth entertained Mansfield in the league at The Lamb on Saturday, 13 Feb and the visitors left with all three points in a 4-2 reversal. After The Stags took the lead, Michael Wylde equalised with a header, but Mansfield hit two more before the break. Jerome Murdock pulled one back on 50 and although The Lambs went close, a break away goal three minutes from time sealed victory for Mansfield. Boss Gary Mills was "proud of my players" and the unbeaten run, and you can hear his entire post match interview below (in this news item).
Tamworth travel to Salisbury twice next week - in the league on Tuesday, 16 Feb then in the FA Trophy Quarter Final on Saturday, 20 Feb.
Earlier this week, Tamworth had performed superbly to bring a point and a clean sheet home from Wales in midweek (Tuesday 09). Wrexham boss Dean Saunders praised the endeavour of The Lambs side and although both sides had limited chances to score it was the home side who were booed from the field at the end, while the travelling fans applauded theirs. "We were superb again", said Mills, "It was hard going once again and all credit to the lads again, I thought after we settled down we looked the better side at times, could perhaps have got a goal and kept another clean sheet. So I've got nothing but praise for my lads, they are enjoying the work hard they have to put in to get the rewards and I'm enjoying watching more and more."
