Squad Update

Friday Oct 12, 2018

One in one out ahead of Redditch!

Manager Dennis Greene has freshened up his attacking options with the capture of striker Cameron Johnson. Johnson met his new teammates at The Lamb prior to training on Thursday evening, before signing on the dotted line. A combative 21 year old attacker who can also operate wide, Johnson joins up with Greene for a third time, having previously worked under him at both Boston United and Boston Town.

Johnson's prolific spell of 13 goals in 15 appearances in the second half of last season resulted in a move to Deeping Rangers, but his stay there was a brief one, as he wished to test himself again at a higher level. He goes straight into Saturday's matchday squad, and will compete with existing attacking options such as Akwasi Asante, Tyrell Waite, Stefan Moore, and the emerging due of Kyle Hayden and Tyrone Ofori.

Following the capture of Johnson, as well as the recent arrivals of Jordan Gough, Charlie Jemson, Stefan Moore, and Keegan Townrow, there will inevitably be some departures in order to keep within the playing budget. The first of these is Lewis Wright, who has served the club extremely well in a short stay since joining this summer. It was felt that the opportunity for Lewis to start games would be limited, and therefore he has been released in order to seek regular first team football elsewhere.

Please join us in wishing Lewis all the best for the rest of the season and beyond.
