Shaw Lane resign from Step 3!

Following a decision revealed yesterday by Shaw Lane to withdraw from The Northern Premier League with immediate effect, there will likely be a change to the constitution of our Southern League Central division for 2018/19.

An FA statement confirmed a proposal for Wimborne Town to be promoted to Step 3. This was decided as the Step 4 losing playoff finalist who gained the highest points total during the regular season. The proposal places Wimborne Town in The Southern League South, with Banbury United laterally moving from The Southern League South to The Southern League Central. In turn, this would result in Hednesford Town moving laterally from The Southern League Central to The Northern Premier League, replacing Shaw Lane.

However, both Banbury and Hednesford have provisionally indicated that they will appeal the new allocation. Further news will follow in due course.
