Midfielder Lee 'dual registers' with The Royals!
Central Midfielder Lee Smith is set for a short spell away from the club in order to get valuable game time, having started this season on the bench.
Despite joining Sutton Coldfield Town on a dual registration basis, Lee is still very much part of the club, as Manager Andy Morrell explained to The Tamworth Herald. "Lee has not played a lot of games, he's been on the bench. Through no fault of his own he got took off at half-time against Chorley the other day because we had to make changes and he wasn't going to last the whole 90 minutes. I was making the three subs so I couldn't really leave him on."
"He needs minutes to get up to speed because he missed a bit of pre-season. He is part of our plans and we want him to play here. With going to Sutton, he plays, it's local and they have the 3G so it suits us all."
Royals boss Neil Tooth added: "Lee is a top quality player and I have been after him for a while so to finally get it done is really pleasing. I have always been an admirer of his from his days playing for Romulus and I know he has improved from playing at a higher level."
