MIDFIELD man, Lee Smith, is back at home recovering from his horror injury and has spoken about what has been a ‘difficult time’...

"It's been a difficult time,” he admitted. “But it's good to be back here. It's great to see the lads, all the staff and the fans.

"The supporters have been absolutely brilliant.

"I was sat in hospital and following Tamworth FC's Official Twitter feed during the match against Bradford Park Avenue.

"To see a photograph of fans holding a banner with my name on, saying 'get well soon' – it was unbelievable. The amount of well wishes I have had since the incident has just been tremendous.

"I was being a bit deep while I was in hospital, questioning why this has happened to me. What have I done to deserve this?

"But, reflecting on it, it's made me realise how much support I have from family, friends, the club. Everyone has just been so good to me.

"I have had so much support and my phone has been going off non-stop.

"I have been truly humbled really.

"It made me very emotional in the hospital, the amount of people who came to visit me to offer their support and it's amazing to know people are there for you."
