Road to Wembley ends

Saturday Jan 12, 2013

Tamworth went in search of 3rd Round Carlsberg FA Trophy glory on Saturday at Northolme, Gainsborough but there was no place in the last eight of the competition for Marcus Law's side as Trinity of the Blue Square Bet North claimed their second BSB Premier scalp in as many rounds.
Boss Marcus Law was obviously less than happy with the display and result as a whole - click 'more' to read his post match comments.

"I am very disappointed. We were inadequate today and individual errors compounded to hand them two goals which obviously put pressure on ourselves as we gave the opposition too many opportunities.
"Gainsborough were resilient and stronger, man for man, and thoroughly deserved to win. They had the edge and the quality required.
"If possible I will be looking to change some personnel over the weekend. I need my players to show their confidence and belief but it wasn't evident today."
"We are back in league action on Tuesday night and must kick on and go for a win in front of a home crowd as it could be a tough tight ride for the rest of the season otherwise."
