PLAYER-manager, Andy Morrell, will be hoping to right the wrongs of our last performance as our attention turns to FA Cup matters on Saturday with a home tie against Alfreton Town (kick-off 3.00pm)...
Whilst our goalless draw with Bradford Park Avenue made it 11 games without defeat, Morrell was far from happy with the display against our lowly Yorkshire opponents.
"To say I was frustrated would be an understatement," he said. "For all the good things we did in our previous couple of games, we did poorly against Bradford Park Avenue.
"Looking at the positives, it was a clean sheet and if you can't win the game, you don't lose it and we managed to do that.
"Mentality is so important, I've said that right from the very first day of pre-season training, and now I am looking for the right response on Saturday.
"We play our best stuff when we're at it and we just weren't quick enough with our tempo in the last game.
"Looking ahead to Saturday and we need the crowd right behind us so that we can burst out of the blocks.
"I've had some good FA Cup runs throughout my career and it would be great to start another at the weekend. To progress in this competition would be great for the players and the whole place.
"To be able to do that, we need to get through these early rounds and we know that Alfreton will be feeling the same too.
"It's a challenge that we are ready for."
