 Striker looks ahead to weekend!

Matt Panter of the Tamworth Herald caught up with Lambs striker Brad Reid earlier this week to get his thoughts ahead of the trip to Bradford Park Avenue on Saturday.

Reid was keen to remain positive after a below par set of recent results for the side “We have got good players here and I think we have a good team" he said. "We have shown that at times like at York, at home to Kidderminster and a few other teams at the top. We even took Salford all the way before eventually losing so there’s no reason why we shouldn’t be up there."

Reid continued “It’s all about game management really. We need to see games out better when we are on top. A lot of teams at this level are a playing kick-and-run style but we are trying to play football. It’s not always worked out for us but we have looked good for spells in games. If we keep working hard hopefully we can start to turn some of the losses into draws and draws into wins and be up there come the end of the season.”

Reflecting on his season so far, the ex Wolves and Wrexham man admitted their is more to come from him. “It’s been a bit frustrating as I wasn’t starting many games when Reece Styche was here" he said. “I understood that. He was scoring every game and so it would have been unfair of me to demand a starting place. I was just having to do what I could when I came off the bench. But when Stychey left a few weeks ago, the gaffer had a chat with me and said he needed me to take up responsibility. He brought Zack (Kotwica) in as competition as well and that has certainly brought a reaction from me.

“I want to be Tamworth’s number nine striker. I want it to be my shirt and so I came off the bench and gave it my all against Southport. I thought I gave a good account of myself and hopefully I have done enough to give Andy (Morrell) something to think about when we play Bradford.”
