THE LAMBS were back in pre-season training in the June sunshine on Saturday...
Manager, Andy Morrell and assistant, Mike Fowler, put the players through two sessions and were pleased with how the day went.
“We had a 20-minute chat with the lads at the start where we outlined our aims and objectives,” said Morrell. “Then we went into a morning session before having some lunch and then getting back out for some more work in the afternoon.
“There were some sore feet at the end, but the lads have come back in good shape and I am pleased with how things have gone.
“With the new lads, we’ve done our homework so we know the type of characters that we have brought in and they have fitted in extremely well with the lads already here.
“They will all add something to the dressing room and that counts for so much at any level. The banter has started already and there is a willingness from everyone to work hard and be successful.
“We’ll be back in on Sunday morning and then will have further sessions on Tuesday and Thursday. This will be the same up to our first pre-season game, so it gives us eight sessions.
“It’s all about progression and stepping things up so that we are ready when the action starts.
“There are some tough games in our pre-season schedule, but there will be a good mix of styles for us to come up against, which will stand us in good stead.
“We want to get minutes into the lads and be able to set out our pattern for the season ahead.”
