Positive Weekend For Development Teams

 U21's begin with a league victory, and U18's progress in FA Youth Cup!


 Our U21 side kicked off the defence of their league title in the best possible manner on Saturday, registering at 5-1 away victory at Kings Heath Concorde. Jack Cook opened his campaign in style, netting a hattrick! Remember that the U21 side are in action at GST Gas Service Stadium at The Lamb this coming Saturday, kicking off at 10.30am.

 24 hours earlier, the newly formed U18 side served up a cracking performance in the FA Youth Cup at home to Hednesford Town in front of a great crowd of 292. There was another hattrick hero in Junior Mpofu, with the boys eventually progressing 5-3 after extra time. Details of the next round will be published shortly.

 There were two other youth fixtures on Saturday, with a depleted U18 side heading to Leek Town just 24 hours after the youth cup game, and a first ever outing for our new U16 side at home to Mickleover Sports. Both teams put in encouraging performances, with the U18's holding their own in the first half before tiring and conceding in the second to eventually lose 4-0 to a group a year older. U16's recorded a commendable 2-2 draw with one of the early favourites for the league title.
