Gary Mills' Lambs defeated Brian Little's ten man Gainsborough side by 2 goals to one on Tuesday night to put Tamworth into the Third Round of the FA Carlsberg Trophy and set up a trip to Guiseley on Saturday, January 30.
Iyseden Christie headed his third goal in four games to put The Lambs ahead before James Hunt saw red for the visitors. Bradley Pritchard extended Tamworth's lead on 43 with a close range finish and although Trinity worked hard and did manage a goal back on 63 through substitute Ryan Mallon The Lambs held strong to the end to extend their unbeaten run to seven games.

"I am delighted with my side tonight," Gary said after the game, "It's been a tough couple of weeks with the games coming thick and fast. There are some tired legs out there and it hasn't helped having players out for one reason or another. Jerome Murdock was unable to play as he was had not signed before the original tie, but can play at Guiseley, while Michael Blackwood, Danny Alcock, Alex Rodman and Des Lyttle were all rested due to injury or illness.
"We've played four games in ten days which is a lot of football at any level and the games keep coming." After Guiseley, Tamworth will either play Salisbury away in the league on Tuesday night, or replay in the Trophy if required.
"Full credit to Gainsborough tonight," Gary continued, "although they were a man down they didn't give up and caused us problems. We had to have our wits about us and work hard to maintain our run. 2-0 is always a dangerous scoreline as one goal swings the pressure either way - as we saw with Trinity getting one back. If we'd have got another before that it would probably have won us the game easily but they kept on coming for the final half hour. As I said, I'm absolutely delighted for and with everyone tonight that the Road to Wembley continues on Saturday."
