NO EXCUSES

Thursday Dec 31, 2015

LAMBS’ goalkeeper, James Belshaw, says that there is a real determination amongst the players to return to winning ways...

A recent dip in form has seen us slip to seventh in the National League North table ahead of our trip to Alfreton Town on Saturday (kick-off 3.00pm).

“The performance in our last game at Nuneaton simply wasn’t good enough,” he said. “As a team we fell well below the standards that we have set ourselves.

“We can’t afford to make excuses, we have to draw a line under it and make sure that it doesn’t happen again.

“The lads are hurting but we know what we have to do to put things right and there is a real determination to get back on track, starting at Alfreton on Saturday.

“They have already beaten us twice this season but we have been working extremely hard to ensure that it doesn’t happen again.

“We need to get back to doing the basics right and being solid. If we can do that, it will give us a platform on which we can start to build some momentum.”
