Newton Prepares For V9

Tuesday May 30, 2017

Jamie Vardy project commences next week!

Speaking to The Daily Mail recently, Lambs hitman Danny Newton revealed he was looking forward to the upcoming challenge of being part of the V9 Academy. "If I can play football for a job it is obviously the dream" Newton said. "Going full-time, you’re going to get better. I will give it my best shot and hope something good comes of it. I am 26 now so it is last chance saloon."

He continued "My style is pretty aggressive. I am quick, strong, and like to run in behind. I don’t give defenders a minute. So Jamie and I are similar in those aspects. I was at Leamington before Tamworth and scored 24 goals. This is my best season so far, but it is not like a one off. It would be nice to better myself."

Newton will be joined by several familiar faces to National League North fans, as well as recent former Lamb Elliott Durrell.
