Newton And Belshaw On Boxing Day

Thursday Dec 22, 2016

1.00pm kick off at home to Nuneaton Town!

"Anyone can beat anyone in this league." That was the message from Lambs striker Danny Newton, who caught up with Matt Panter of the Tamworth Herald this week ahead of the huge Boxing Day clash at home to Nuneaton Town.Newton, who will unfortunately miss out on Boxing Day due to suspension, will be raring to go for the return fixture at Liberty Way on New Years Day.

Commenting on his late sending off against Chorley, Newton said "The first yellow card, I have got no arguments with. But I am not stupid. I know there's big games coming up over the Christmas period, I am not going to be going into silly challenges and risk not being involved. I was wriggling through a few players and got knocked off balance and went into one of their players and the referee has given the second yellow card, which I thought was harsh."

Meanwhile Lambs Keeper, and ex Nuneaton Town employee James Belshaw called on fans to be as vocal as possible at the game. "I am sure there will be a great atmosphere and hopefully our fans will turn out and back us." Belshaw said. "We need them to be in fine voice on Boxing Day because I am sure a fair few will travel from Nuneaton."

As always, tickets start from as little as £12 for adults, £7 for concessions, and just £2 for juniors. We need as much support as possible to help us finish 2016 in style, so please spread the word!
