Newsletter for Week Ending 6th June 2010

With Gary and Darron still away on holiday there is still no news on any signings for the forthcoming season but with a number of last seasons squad contacting the office to confirm their availability it will not be to long before players will be signing registration forms.

After the loss of Chris Smith last seasons Club Captain to Mansfield Town the club has learned that last seasons leading goal scorer, Iyseden Christie who will be 34 in November has signed a season long contract for Kettering Town. The Poppies hold special memories for Iyseden and as he knows the club well plus the offer made to him he had no hesitation signing for a club he feels at home with.

As per previous newsletters there will be no news of any away friendlies until Gary has reviewed the offers of a game which the club has received. The home games will be Aberdeen on the 24th July, Chesterfield on the 27th and Llanelli on August 7th. The League programme gets under way on the 14th of August.

The home friendly matches will be at the ‘c' game rates. See ticket prices for full details.

The new home shirt will be available early next week and a photo shoot has already been planned for early next week. A photo will be on line shortly after and in the next edition of the Tamworth Herald. At the same time news of a back of the shirt sponsor will be also be released.

The club office is still taking pre orders for the shirt which will be in stock early July. The away strip will remain the same for the 2010/11 season and stock is available now especially for supporters going away on holiday. The club tee shirt is another item of clothing that will look good on the beach or for casual wear during the hot weather spells that we are experiencing.

The early bird season ticket offer is now over and it has been a success as more supporters have become season ticket holders. Most stand season ticket holders have renewed their season tickets and only a very small number have not renewed. If supporters still wish to hold onto their seat it will be held until mid July when they will be placed back on general sale.

The club house still has a few dates available during the year for parties, celebrations, presentation evenings, fund raising events. Contact the club for further details.

Richard Sneekes has been appointed to the coaching staff at the Academy at South Staffs College. Recently Tony Morley has been assisting and another appointment will be made before the start of the College's Autumn term.

Jay Edwards held another successful soccer camp during the week where local youngsters were able to hone their skills withthe coaches. The weather was good which at least enabled the youngsters to enjoy a full day of activities.
