Gary Mills has secured the signature of Mansfield Town's Tom Shaw ahead of the Lambs FA Cup tie at home to Ryman league side East Thurrock on Saturday.
The game kicks off at The Lamb at 3pm and the squad will be out to return to winning ways quickly after defeat by Hinckley in the Setanta Shield ended the sides 12 match unbeaten run.
Tamworth may have fallen out of the League Cup on Monday night, but they will be out to show boss Gary Mills that that was just a blip in their great start to the season by progressing to the 4th Qualifying Round at the first attempt on Saturday afternoon.
It's the first time The Lambs have met The Rocks, who are currently doing well in the Ryman Division One North - two leagues below Tamworth - but Gary Mills is under no illusions that they will give his side an easy passage through to a potential meeting with a Blue Square National club.
"I'm sure we will be in for a tough afternoon but we just have to do what we do. If we show the right commitment, desire and application that we have done all season we should be fine," Mills told this weeks Tamworth Herald.
Should the tie end all square on Saturday then Tamworth's trip to Newcastle Town in the Staffs Senior Cup will be postponed and The Lambs will have to travel the long distance south instead for a replay against the Essex side (kick off 7.45pm).
As for the new signing, we are delighted to announce that 21 year old midfielder Tom Shaw has signed from Mansfield Town and gos straight into the squad for Saturday.
