Farewell Adie

Sunday May 25, 2008

After 167 appearances and 8 goals Tamworth FC are bidding farewell to much respected player Adie Smith who is set to sign for local side Southern League Chasetown for the 2008-09 season.

All at TFC would like to place on record their appreciation for Adie's hardwork, commitment and all round passion for all things TFC and true to the cause, he made his final appearance at The Lamb on Friday night at the U13s presentation evening.Adie and Bob Andrews on Sky TV

Adie made his debut for Tamworth on 07 February 2004 as part of the side that defeated Leigh RMI 4-3 in the first season in the Conference National under Darron Gee and went on to wear the captains armband perhaps more times than not and inspire the side through thick and thin, good times and bad.

His final season at The Lamb also won him the goal of the season award - by scoring the first goal of the season and setting the benchmark for all others to follow - a fitting tribute to a fine player.

Once again we are sure fans will join us in wishing Adie good luck in the future.
