Mills gets his man
Viva Veiga !!
Some patience and professional negotiating by Tamworth FC has been rewarded ... with the return of goalkeeper Jose Veiga.
The popular Portuguese custodian touched down at Manchester airport after returning from his homeland ...and less than two hours later had put pen to paper to commit himself to the Lambs.
General manager and secretary Russell Moore, who arranged the flight from Lisbon and collected Veiga from the airport, said: "Our manager Gary Mills, club officials and I'm surfe all the supporters, are delighted at this news. We regard Jose as the best keeper in non league football."
There has been a lot of debate about the goalkeeper position. Regular bulletins have been issued about players re-signing and new faces being brought and now the burning question has been answered.
Despite speculation about Veiga's future and where he might end up, the club has remained in contact with him, continually monitored the situation and the patience has brought a satisfactory conclusion.
Mr Moore added: "Jose has been home, had time to sort out some personal commitments and now he is as delighted to be back as we are to have him back. It's not necessarily the final piece in Gary Mills' jig-saw, but certainly an important one."
Jose is quickly preparing himself to be ready for a behind-closed-doors friendly against Birmingham City tomorrow evening.
