Thorpe & Heggs in.

Tuesday May 22, 2007 to Thursday May 31, 2007

New face, familiar face !!

Tony Thorpe and Carl Heggs met manager Mills today and signed contracts for next season.

A new name to most, Thorpe was released from Grimsby at the end of the season. A forward who can count Colchester, Luton, Fulham and Reading among his former clubs, the 33-year-old feels a new challenge will reap rewards for himself and Tamworth.

Carl Heggs the returning player who will give his all ...he is delighted to be back at Tamworth. A whole-hearted player, Heggsie is the type that every club needs - strong, committed and willing to go that extra mile in in the pursuit of a victory for the club.

Another returning former player is Marcus Ebdon, Marcus is back at The Lamb in the role of Youth Development Officer. Gary Mills wasted no time in bringing Marcus in to fill the void left with the departure of youth team personnel. Marcus will over see all of the youth teams, and he is looking forward to starting work ASAP.

The club will also be bringing back the very successful soccer schools. Any boy or girl between the ages of 7 and 14 years will be eligible to attend. To guarantee a place on the first soccer school please contact the club on 01827 65798 or e-mail russell@thelambs.co.uk to reserve your place. It is anticipated the first soccer school will be held on August 28, 29,and 30. at a cost of £30.00 for 3 days or £12.00 for one day.
More news on the soccer schools will follow.
