Busy Mills signs four
Former Leicester city favourite Gerry Taggart was one of four signings completed today in a busy morning for Tamworth manager Gary Mills.
He has also brought in Gareth Sheldon while Michael Briscoe and Michael Tuohy have both committed themselves to another season at The Lamb.
Belfast-born Taggart, 36, was a defensive kingpin for Leicester City for whom he made more than 140 league and cup appearances between July 1998 and February 2004. He won 51 caps for Northern Ireland, scoring seven times. He started as a trainee with Manchester City and has also played for Barnsley, Bolton and Stoke.
Birmingham-based Sheldon, 27, is a forward whose previous clubs are Scunthorpe, Exeter, Kidderminster and, most recently, Hereford.
Briscoe, 22, who can play at the back or in midfield, came to Tamworth in February this year, having previously had spells with Macclesfield, Burton and Hucknall.

Tuohy, still only 19, joined Tamworth after being released by Aston Villa's youth set-up. He made his debut in October 2005 but injury made 2006-07 the season that wasn't and he is desperate to put that behind him.
