Tuesday Dec 7, 2010
The recently postponed home match against Newport County has now been arranged for Tuesday 11th january 2011, kick off 7.45pm. The club offered Altricham Tuesday 14th or the 21st of December to play last Sundays postponed game as these are the only available dates left to comply with the Leagues 42 day rule to re-arrange a postponed game but Altrincham have already been advised that there FA Trophy tie is in doubt so the 14th comes into play for the Trophy and their County Cup match moves back to the 21st
The first free date in the calendar is Tuesday 18th January and we now await Altrincham's response to this offer
The Darlington pitch is currently covered by a protective sheet and has a three inch covering of snow. The pitch is perfectly playable at this time. Tuesday nights temperature could drop as low as -10. The Quakers have arranged for diggers to clear the surrounds of the pitch tomorrow so they can remove the snow that is currently on the pitch.
The forecast for Thursday and Friday is for warmer weather so hopefully that will give sufficient time to clear the pitch and surrounds. Looks like there is a good chance that we will travelling to the North East on Saturday which will be a benefit as we can ill afford another postponement at this stage of the season.
