THERE’S a mouth-watering game in prospect here at The Lamb on Saturday as we play host to Harrogate Town...
Our hosts sit just one place above us in the table, but are eight points better off and we will be looking to claw back some of that deficit.
It will be a tough challenge as Harrogate have the second-best away record in The National League North, but player-manager, Andy Morrell, is looking forward to the game.
“There is no doubt that it’s a big game for both clubs,” said Morrell without hesitation. “From our point of view we can close the gap but for Harrogate it is the opportunity to really pull away from us.
“We’re looking forward to it; these type of occasions are going to be coming thick and fast in the weeks and months ahead.
“There are going to be twists and turns ahead but we have to concentrate on what we do and make sure that we are right.
We can affect what happens elsewhere.
“We need to get back into the winning habit again and start building some momentum. Last weekend’s game against FC United of Manchester was a starting point, but we have to build on that now.
“The lads are desperate to kick-on; they know that we need to put a run of results together at some point, so what better way to get back into winning ways than against a team in and around us in the table?
“They are a strong side with quality all over the pitch who will be well-organised and difficult to break down. They will be competitive, but we have the quality here to be able to break them down if we reach the standards that I know we are capable of.
“If we can play with a good tempo and move the ball quickly, it will stand us in good stead.”
