THE LAMBS fell to a last-minute goal at Alfreton Town on Saturday, but player-manager, Andy Morrell, has taken the positives from an improved display...

“The manner of the defeat was disappointing,” admitted Morrell who started the game and played for just over an hour. “But beyond that it was a big improvement on our previous performance and we will be taking the positives from that.

“There was a feeling that we needed to go back to basics, which we did, and the effort and commitment to the cause could not be faulted.

“If we can maintain these standards, then we will get back on track. Yes, it’s been a poor festive period, but we have to draw a line under it and look forward.

“We have spoken about things and now we are looking forward to the next game and being able to kick-on.

“It’s going to take hard work and desire, but I know that the lads have these qualities.”
