MANAGER, Andy Morrell, bagged the winner as The Lambs were given another good pre-season work-out by Mickleover Sports on Tuesday evening...

“We found ourselves up against a very good Mickleover side, to be fair,” admitted Morrell. “We looked a little disjointed in the first half and didn’t really turn up.

“I spoke to the lads at half-time and asked for a reaction; I wanted us to go quickly after the break and put the pressure on them by playing in their half.

“The lads did well in the second half. You have to earn the right to take control of these games and we have to get the mentality of whoever we play against, we approach the game in the same way.

“There’s been a few teething problems so far, but it’s best for them to happen now so that we can iron them out.

“That said, I am generally happy with how things are going; the lads are getting fitter and we’re picking up results.

“Although you never read too much into pre-season, it’s still good to pick up positive results and build some momentum.”
