Morrell On Gainsborough

Friday Oct 6, 2017

Gaffer looks ahead to Saturday's home clash!

Matt Panter caught up with Andy Morrell midweek, with the Gaffer calling for a ‘big reaction’ as we look to bounce back to winning ways on Saturday, as Gainsborough Trinity prepare to visit The Lamb.

“It’s been a frustrating week without a game,” said Morrell. “It’s not nice when you lose and you are waiting on a game coming round. I think the lads are itching to get going again. We are back and home and we have just got to get out there and put a performance on. We need to take the game to them on the front foot. It’s all about how we bounce back. We need to get back to the levels we know we are capable of. We want a big reaction from the players.”

Saturday’s opponents Gainsborough are second from bottom of the league but have progressed well in cup competitions so far, and Morrell is anticipating a tough afternoon. “They have had a mixed bag this year,” he said. “They will be fit. They were back in pre-season early. They have got some good players and they will be strong and will want to win. It’s a tough game but, if we are at it, we will be fine. We are at home and should be confident. Hopefully we will have a good crowd to back us.”
