A LATE leveller from Danny Newton ended our run of defeats as we shared the spoils with FC United of Manchester here at The Lamb on Saturday...

"We were good in the first half," said player-manager, Andy Morrell. "We had a solid shape and played some good stuff but lacked a clinical edge.

"They didn't cause us too many problems, to be fair, but then we came out after the break with little intensity and some careless play meant that we were chasing the game.

"Credit to my players because they could have easily gone into their shell, but they kept at it and the intensity levels increased and we were rewarded with a late equaliser.

"I was pleased to get something out of the game; hopefully we can use it to kick-on now.

"It was a niggly game and we actually looked better against 11 men than we did when they had a man sent off.

"There are improvements still to be made, but we are going in the right direction. We know that we have to be better with the ball when we have it, but there are positives.

"First and foremost we had to stop our losing run, especially at home, and we've done that. Now we have to get ready for some big games ahead."
