Gaffer looks ahead to north east trip!
Matt Panter of the Tamworth Herald caught up with Manager Andy Morrell this week, in order to get his thoughts on this weekends trip to Darlington.
Morrell said: "I feel now that I have got 17 players that I could play, that I could start. A few weeks ago, when we were at Fylde, for example, we didn't have so many options."
The likes of James Belshaw, Joe Clarke, and Paul Green were all missing from the starting line up last time out, and will be hoping for recalls.
"It's a huge plus" said Morrell when discussing the selection dilemma. "I have plenty of options this week so we will see what happens in training. We will get the lads in this week and we will prepare right and those who train best will put themselves in contention to start."
Morrell is expecting a tough clash against a Darlington side still pushing hard for the play-offs. The Quakers are one place shy of the top five and two points adrift of Chorley with games running out.
"They have done great this season," he said. "People thought they might blow up at some point but they have been at it all the way through. They have got a good attitude at both ends of the pitch and we will have to go there with the right mindset."
On his own side's hopes of making the top five, Morrell added: "I think we may have needed two more wins to be around it. We need a lot of teams to mess up now. I know sides have got to play each other but it will be a tall order. We just need to go about our business, play as many games as we can and just see. You never know. We can only deal with what we do. We are on the coat tails and we will just plug away."
