Morrell made up over defeat of Pitmen

Saturday Nov 22, 2014

Lambs boss Andy Morrell was quite rightly over the moon about Dan Preston's last gasp winner at Keys Park which brought his side's tally to seven out of the last twelve available points.

'I am made up for the win, we showed Hednesford that wanted it, and took it, and we also needed it just as much...

'Once we got going in the first half we were good and deserved our goals - we looked hungry for them, but I am concerned that we tried to sit on the lead after the break and it forced (James) Belshaw to make some great stops. He is a quality keeper and a great character to have around the dressing room.
'I had to tweak the back line again today for various reasons and Dan (Preston) will now have to sit out a game when his ban for five yellow cards comes through. We have talked about silly yellow cards and have cut most of them out, but even though he scored a last minute winner, it was a shame he tarnished it with a card - I was half raging at him and half celebrating at the final whistle!
'Reece Styche and Dave Hibbert also had great games and put in performances worth of their goals. Dave reminds me a bit like me but better! He has some great qualities on the field.
'We now need to make the best of our home form - with three home games in quick succession we should be looking to kick on and keep the momentum going, starting on Tuesday when Brackley Town are the visitors.'
