THE LAMBS made it two wins out of two on Tuesday evening with a hard-earned 2-1 win at Worcester City in what proved to be an all-action encounter...

“It was a good win,” said manager, Andy Morrell, who decided to leave himself out of the team having figured on the opening day. “We managed to get a foot-hold in the game as the first half went on and scoring two cracking goals in quick succession.

“We looked comfortable after the goals and played some decent stuff until the clash of heads involving Curtis changed things a bit.

“I felt that we lost our composure in the second half and we didn’t pass the ball as we had done in the opening period.

“It meant that we had to dig-in and James Belshaw had to make a couple of decent saves as Worcester looked for a way back into the game.

“We had to be resolute and although our hosts got one back, we managed to battle out the three points.

“It showed another side to our game, which was pleasing.”

Our next challenge comes in the form of a trip to FC United of Manchester on Saturday as we look to extend our unbeaten start (kick-off 3.00pm).
