Aaron Opoku made his National League North debut on Saturday!
Manager Andy Morrell has congratulated Aaron Opoku, who became the latest U21 graduate to make his league debut in the 4-3 victory at Harrogate Town. While Jorna Moulton featured in the league last season, there has been a larger spread of players this season so far, with the like of Ryan Pace, Michael Wright, John Dodd, and Kai Davis all being named in matchday squads, and Goalkeeper Dan Jezeph regularly training with the first team also.
On Opoku, Morrell said "Aaron can play in any of the front three positions and has done well in the U21 games I have watched. He has got pace, he is powerful, six foot tall and strong. He has got goals in him and I really like him."
Another to impress the Manager has been full back Kai Davis "Kai has done really well too. He is flexible and can play right or left back" Morell stated.
He is athletic and has done well for the under-21s. It's good to get these lads in and around the first team. They get to see how we prepare for games. They have shown a good attitude towards it and so it is good for us to integrate them with the lads more."
