With Alex Rodman and Tom Shaw possibly out of Saturday's game against Hucknall through illness coupled with both Dominic Langdon and Craig Reid both struggling with injuries, Lambs boss Gary Mills has moved quickly to bring in 29 year old Mansfield utility player Michael Blackwood who today (Friday) has signed to the end of the season.
The Lambs enter a tough week despite playing teams near the foot of the table.
Hucknall are in fact the bottom club with the biggest negative goal difference, but they will obviously not be an easy team to face at this stage in the season, and then on Tuesday Tamworth are on their travels again, this time to Burscough four points clear of the drop zone, but having played more games than their close rivals.
Michael Blackwood has played against The Lambs a few times in his career having been with Telford, Kidderminster, Halesowen, Stevenage and Worcester and was once linked with a move to Tamworth. This season he has made over 20 appearances for the Conference Premier Stags, scoring three times.
If you would like to travel on the official coach to either the game, (Saturday's departs The Lamb at midday), it's not to late to book your seat. Please contact the club during normal office hours on Friday (or by close of play on Monday for Burscough)
