McLeish to visit The Lambs with Blues

Wednesday Aug 5, 2009

On Wednesday evening, Birmingham City visit the Lamb in the final pre-season friendly for Gary Mills' side before the season kicks off on Saturday.

Although the game is billed as a Birmingham City XI fixture which is not normally a full first team Blues side, the squad that beat Cheltenham 4-0 on Saturday featured a large number of soon to be Premiership stars. You can read about it here from the CTFC site. You can also read about last night's 4-1 win by Crewe over Birmingham (first team) here from the BCFC site.

We have had confirmation that Alex McLeish will be in attendance at our game, which kicks off at 7.30pm, following last nights defeat by The Railwaymen and while we have not had confirmation of the players that will feature for Blues, the presence of McLeish may well point to the Birmingham boss looking for an immediate response from his squad ahead of their final warm up game against Spanish Primera Division side Real Sport de Gijon on Saturday, while The Lambs open the Blue Square Premier fixture list away at Stevenage Borough.

Admission on Wednesday night is £10 adults, £5 concessions.
